Why You Need a Wedding Dog Attendant

We all know the importance of wedding day roles like the flower girl, ring bearer, maid of honor, and best man, but what about a role for man’s best friend? At To Wag & To Hold, we know dogs are a huge part of our families, and many couples feel like their wedding wouldn’t be complete without their furry companions. That’s where we come in! Our team of wedding pet attendants accompany your dog during whatever parts of your wedding that you’d like them present for - whether that’s being a part of the ceremony, participating in photo opps, or greeting guests during cocktail hour.

As dog handlers, we handle all of the canine care and logistics so all you have to do is enjoy your special day. It’s stressful enough planning a wedding, let alone having to worry about Fido having enough food or looking at the camera during family pictures. We’ll stay by your pet’s side, make sure they attend every event you desire, and make sure their needs are met. Plus, all of our wedding pet attendants are fully insured and certified in Pet CPR and First Aid so you know that your dog is in great hands.

If you want your dog present at your wedding, the first step is to check in with your wedding venue and confirm that they allow animals. Keep in mind that some venues have limitations on how long the dog can stay—for example, once food comes out, they may need to leave. If your venue doesn’t allow dogs, don’t worry! We can work with you to find another solution that allows you to celebrate with your dog, such as coordinating photos at another location. The second step is to secure a day-of wedding handler to accompany your dog.

A wedding is a joining of two families, and our dogs are a part of those families. It’s so special to have everyone you love there to celebrate your love story, including those with four legs and a tail. So, what are you waiting for? Contact us to schedule an initial consultation for your wedding today.
